台灣台北人。猶他大學合唱指揮博士。現任鹽湖華人合唱團音樂總監。歷年來指導過的合唱團不計其數,在台灣合作的團體包含交通大學合唱團、政治大學法律學院合唱團以及多所國高中學校合唱團和社區合唱團。在美期間,多次擔任客席指揮,並將當代亞洲合唱曲目介紹給美國聽眾。在猶他大學時師事Barlow Bradford博士。於台灣師範大學取得合唱指揮碩士學位,師承孫愛光博士。赴美前,長年跟隨台大合唱團連芳貝老師學習合唱指揮。
A citizen of Taiwan, Yu-Feng Huang earned his Doctor of Musical Arts in Choral Conducting from the University of Utah. He has performed with numerous groups that make up the choral landscape of Utah. He currently serves as the music director of the Salt Lake Chinese Choir.
As a conductor, Dr. Huang has served as music director for more than ten choirs, including Taiwan’s National Chiao-Tung University Chorus, National Cheng-Chi University Law Department Chorus, as well as several high school and community choirs across Taiwan. He has performed with international award-winning choirs and introduced contemporary Asian choral music to American audiences as a guest conductor of the Choral Arts Society of Utah.
During his time at the University of Utah, Yu-Feng studied under Dr. Barlow Bradford, served as a teaching assistant with the University of Utah Chamber Choir and A Cappella Choir, and was an instructor of the undergraduate conducting class. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Choral Conducting under Dr. Ai-Kuang Sun (孫愛光) at the National Taiwan Normal University, considered the best choral program in Taiwan. Yu-Feng learned as a protégé of famed choral conductor Fang-Pei Lien (連芳貝) with the National Taiwan University Chorus for more than 10 years.

王妍琦,四歲開始習琴,2014年以優異成績被南京師範大學音樂系錄取,在鋼琴系主任張昱煜指導下獲得鋼琴學士學位,隨後在猶他大學獲鋼琴演奏碩士學位並繼續深造至今,現作為鋼琴演奏學博士在讀生,師從猶他大學音樂學院鋼琴系主任魯寧教授。曾獲2021年SummerArt 藝術節青年組鋼琴獨奏第一名,協奏組第二名;同年與博士班同學在2021-2022美國MTNA-Stecher and Horowitz雙鋼琴比賽中榮獲一等獎;卡丹賽鋼琴比賽二等獎;雅馬哈全國鋼琴比賽優秀獎。 2017年曾受邀參加Saarbug室內樂音樂節,並在2018年擔任鹽湖城華人合唱團鋼琴伴奏至今。在本科期間,連續三年獲得珠江鋼琴獎學金;在研究生期間連續兩年擔任猶他大學鋼琴系助教。
Yanqi Wang is pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) degree in Piano Performance at the University of Utah, study under the guidance of the piano area head, Dr. Ning Lu. She has been playing piano since she was four years old. In 2014, she was admitted to the School of Music in Nanjing Normal University, study with the chair of piano department, Professor Yuyu Zhang. After earning her bachelor’s degree in music (BM), she continued her study with Dr. Ning Lu and earned her Master of Musical Art (MM) in Piano Performance from University of Utah in 2021.
As a pianist, she was the prizewinner of several competitions, included the first prize of 2021 Summer Arts Competition Young Artist Piano Solo and 2021-2022 MTNA-Stecher and Horowitz Two-Piano Competition; second prize in CADANZA piano competition and honorable mention in YAMAHA national piano competition. As a collaborative pianist and chamber musician, she was invited to the Saarburg Chamber Music Festival in 2017 and has been a piano accompanist with the Salt Lake Chinese Choir since 2018.
She has earned piano scholarship for three consecutive years during her undergraduate study. During her master years in the University of Utah, she earned teaching assistantship for two years and currently served as a teaching assistant with the piano minor college students.
旅美二胡青年演奏家。曾任中國民族青年樂團首席、澳門中樂團二胡演奏員。為第一位台灣人考取北京中央音樂學院-學士/碩士。年少時也以出眾的琴技活躍於舞台,並多次在胡琴比賽中獲獎。
逸珊演出經驗豐富,曾至中國、韓國、新加坡、馬來西亞、澳門、葡萄牙、澳大利亞、北美等地區演出!
作為一名文化傳播者,逸珊積極參與文化交流活動及傳播中華民族音樂。在美國當地學校積極推廣二胡,與當地學校學生交流演出、解說二胡技法之介紹。
現為猶他州華人民樂團二胡首席,主要從事二胡、鋼琴教學以及各類演出。
I-Shan Lai, a renowned Erhu musician, was the first student from Taiwan to be accepted into the prestigious Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing, China. She graduated with both bachelor's and master's degrees in Erhu Performance. After her graduation, I-Shan was recruited by the professional Macau Chinese Orchestra. She has performed with the orchestra in many Asian Pacific countries, Portugal, and the United States of America.
I-Shan currently works on promoting Erhu and Chinese music in colleges, public schools, and summer camps. She recently has had several performances at Brigham Young University, including a solo concert, and twice as a special guest musician in BYU's "Christmas Around the World" concerts.
She has conducted workshops and held presentations for college-level music study students and elementary-level young students. She devoted herself to promoting Chinese music, especially in erhu, and took it as a mission in the United States.
周政博士,1992 年出⽣於中國安徽,旅美青年作曲家、唱作⼈及竹笛演奏者。 2022年5月畢業於美國猶他⼤學,獲哲學博⼠學位。期間獲全額獎學金並擔任作曲家協會主席及常駐作曲家、新⾳樂樂團及電⼦⾳樂樂團策劃,視唱練⽿及⾳樂理論在編教師。作品曾在美國、法國、奧地利和中國等全球多個國家和地區演出。弦樂四重奏作品《幽⾕迴響》被美國猶他州藝術博物館永久收藏,並獲猶他⼤學優秀學⽣作曲家獎學⾦;曾參與猶他⼤學及猶他⼤學圖書館與猶他藝術館聯合舉辦的應對氣候變化跨學科合作學術項⽬ “Artivism for Earth”,同年受猶他⼤學校報及猶他州藝術博物館專訪。作品由美國加州⼤學洛杉磯分校⾳樂圖書館和中國科學⽂化⾳像出版社有限公司出版。
Zheng Zhou (b. 1992 in Anhui, China) is a composer, songwriter, and Di-Zi (Chinese bamboo flute) player whose music has been performed globally, including in the United States, France, Austria, and China, etc. He has worked with ensembles from different regions, such as DuselForty58 (Los Angeles), PHACE (Vienna), NOVA (Salt Lake City), Fear No Music (Oregon), etc. Zhou’s music is multicultural, employing various elements of many genres. He also absorbs compositional ideas from vivid images of the world around him. Zhou has been working on the composition and research of “visual-musical combination” and “electroacoustic music with cultural diversity.” Zhou has received several national awards in China as a composer and songwriter, including the First and Second Prizes of “The Sixth Exhibition of National Aesthetic Education (2014)” and The First Prize of the “Top 100 Best Chinese Original Songs in 2017-2018.” His works have been published by UCLA Music Library and China Scientific & Cultural Audio-video Publishing Co., Ltd. One of his string quartets, Glen Echo (2020), has been published on the official site of the Utah Museum of Fine Arts (UMFA), in which he has been interviewed by UMFA and “@theU” News of the University of Utah. He was involved in a university-wide interdisciplinary collaboration regarding climate change at the University of Utah, “Artivism for Earth,” in which he composed a sextet piece, Reflection (2021). Zhou holds a degree in musicology from the China University of Mining and Technology (B.A.) and music composition from California State University, Northridge (M.M.). In 2022, Zhou received his Ph.D. in music composition from the University of Utah, where he also served as an instructor of record in musicianship/theory areas and the president of the University Composers Collective.

As a drummer, Tyler Chen, for almost 10+ years, has performed around Utah with many music groups. You might have seen him playing in parades with the SLCC marching band, or at the football games with the University of Utah drumline, or in concert halls with the American West Symphony, or with University of Utah Jazz bands, or in bars with his jazz quintet called Sunnyside Avenue. More recently, he had joined Samba Fogo and enjoys learning Brazilian music.
As a composer, Tyler draws a lot of influences from jazz, classical, and pop music and has studied under great musicians such as Kris Johnson, Steve Lyman, Brian Booth, and Courtney Isaiah Smith. He has composed several works for jazz ensembles, jazz small groups and, hip-hop artists and has won the Jazz Commission for the Utah Arts Festival in 2021.
As an audio engineer, he does a lot of freelance work for many artists and has recorded and produced many of his own and other artists songs.
He graduated in 2020 with his bachelors in Jazz Composition and a certificate in Music Technology at the University of Utah.
The Joy of Snowflakes could be considered one of the most popular Chinese choral pieces. The poem was written by the iconic Chinese modern poet Zhimo Xu (1897-1931), who strove to loosen Chinese poetry from its traditional forms and reshape it under the influences of Western poetry and the vernacular Chinese language. The Taiwanese composer Dr. Jenny H. Chou is a renowned pianist and composer located in Boston. She earned her DMA in historic performance from Boston University. Her music is widely performed across Asia and among the global Chinese community.

The Poem Deep Smile is written by the talented women Phyllis Lin, the first female architect in modern China history and the ex-wife of Zhimo Xu. She wrote the poem to remember Xu after his tragic air crash. The first two paragraphs express her admiration and missing for Xu. The tower is an architectural symbol in the last paragraph to present how incredible Xu’s literature achievement is. Yu-Hsien Huang is a current medical doctor at Kaohsiung Veterans General Hospital. Dr. Huang is inspired by the famous Taiwanese conductor Tracy Lien; he devoted himself to arranging the Taiwanese songs into choral arrangements in his spare time. His music is widely performed across Taiwan.

A Blossoming Tree is written by the famous contemporary poet Murong Xi, a professional painter. The poem presents the deliciated emotion and the unrequited love based on a Buddhism tale. The composer Eric Liu is famed for his expressive and lyric melody, and his music is widely performed in Asia, Europe, and the US. He earned his master's degree in composition from Boston University and a diploma in film music from the Berklee College of Music.

Fairy of the Magpie Bridge is the commission in 2021 by the Salt Lake Chinese Choir commission for the mixed choir, piano, and the traditional Chinese string instrument, Gaohu. The poem was written by Guan Qin (1049-1100), who is famous for his subtle, graceful, and restrained poetry-writing. The poem is based on the well-known fairy story, Cowherd and Weaver Girl. The beloved couple could only meet once a year upon the Milky Way at the lunar July 7th, considered the Chinese Valentine since the 6th century. The Taiwanese composer Chun-Da Huang has received widespread acclaim in many different music fields, including choral, chamber, theater music, film, and jazz music. He holds a B.M. in composition from National Taiwan Normal University.

Everyone sings for different reasons, but the mutual reason is that we all sing for ourselves. This song exquisitely expresses the choristers’ hearts and emotions. Many Reasons for Me to Sing is dedicated to Rainbow Chamber Singers for their 10th anniversary by Arron King. Aaron King is one of the most famous composers and conductors in China and the builder of Rainbow Chamber Singers, the most influential choir located in Shanghai. Aaron King graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and earned a degree in conducting.

I Believe This Is Love is a commission by Salt Lake Chinese Choir for the 20th anniversary. The famous Taiwanese songwriter Hunter Lee was invited to write this particular song for this unique community choir in 2021. After releasing the music in a pop song mixing version, the Choir asked Wei-Chi Huang to arrange the piano part for the live performance. Wei-Chi Huang earned a master’s degree in Collaborative Piano from the University of Utah and has arranged a few choral pieces for the Salt Lake Chinese Choir. Hunter Lee is a freelance songwriter with many albums released in Taiwan and Beijing.

Big Fish is the famous Chinese anime Big Fish & Begonia theme song, the most successful Chinese animated epic fantasy film. The story is inspired by the ancient literature “Zhuangzi.” The arranger Yuchuan Wen is a well-known pianist, conductor, and composer. His music is widely performed in mainland China.

Sound Beneath the Snowfall is the ending theme of the famous ancient Chinese drama “Story of Yanxi Palace,” the most popular TV drama in 2018. The song describes the unrequited love, just like the sound beneath the snowfall, which seems like you can sense it but doesn’t exist. The Taiwanese composer Chun-Da Huang arranges the version.

Back window is written by the Taiwanese pop songwriter Tom Chang (1966-1997), renowned for his sopranist vocal range, significance to the development of the local music industry, and versatility. The arranger Koji Sakurai is an active Japanese composer, and music producer, located in Taiwan. He was the music working partner with Tom. Many years after Tom tragic accident, he worked with Tracy Lien and arranged some of Tom’s popular songs into choral arrangements to remember Tom’s achievement in the pop song industry.

雪花的快樂由中國最著名的現代派詩人徐志摩所創作,徐一生致力於打破中國傳統詩詞格律,將西方文學的影響揉入現代中文,倡導新詩格律,在中國新詩發展有舉足輕重的地位。此曲由台灣旅美作曲家周鑫泉博士所創作,被視為最廣為流傳的當代中文合唱曲目之一。周博士為知名鋼琴演奏家、作曲家,畢業於波士頓大學,並取得早期音樂演奏博士。她的合唱創作在亞洲以及全世界華人合唱圈廣泛地被演唱。

深笑由著名才女林徽音所寫,林以此詩追憶徐志摩,以「笑」象徵其文學作品。三段詩文分別比擬徐的天真性情,往事回憶,最後以建築意象表達徐志摩的詩文造詣矗立文壇高聳。既展現對徐志摩的景仰,亦表達心中思念之情。作曲黃俞憲,台灣高雄人,現為高雄榮民總醫院醫師,在連芳貝老師的鼓勵與指導下,改編多首台灣本土歌曲,其改編作品在台灣廣為流傳。

一棵開花的樹為詩人席慕蓉,最為人所知的詩作之一。席慕蓉祖籍蒙古,生於四川,長於台灣。現為職業畫家,其著作有詩集、散文集、畫冊等。以傳說故事為軸,細膩深刻地道出單戀之情。作曲家劉新誠,為台灣中生代最重要的作曲家之一,於波士頓大學取得理論作曲碩士,其作品在美國、歐洲、兩岸三地皆深獲好評。2019年因病離世,享年39歲,身後遺留傑作數篇,皆為膾炙人口的上乘佳作。

鵲橋仙·纖雲弄巧為鹽湖華人合唱團於2021年委託新銳作曲家黃俊達為該合唱團與二胡演奏家賴逸珊量身打造的作品。鵲橋仙為宋代著名詞人秦觀最出名的一闋詞,以溫柔婉約的筆觸道出牛朗織女的故事。黃俊達畢業台灣師範大學音樂系,主修理論作曲,其音樂創作涵蓋多種不同形式與風格,為全方位音樂創作人。

我想這就是愛吧為鹽湖華人合唱團二十週年委託創作,由台灣詞曲創作人李宗翰譜寫並擔任混音製作,後委託鋼琴演奏家黃威齊為此曲編寫鋼琴伴奏。李宗翰現為全職詞曲創作人,從事流行音樂混音製作。黃威齊,甫畢業於猶他大學,取得鋼琴合作碩士,多次為鹽湖華人合唱團改編樂曲。

後窗為台灣著名流行歌手張雨生早期創作,此曲開創流行音樂界先河,巧妙地結合中國古風詞曲,並將傳統民樂融入編曲。此演唱版本由張雨生當年的創作夥伴櫻井弘二所編。張雨生過世後多年,櫻井先生與台大合唱團連芳貝老師,共同合作,挑選張雨生幾首膾炙人口的歌曲改編成為合唱版本,讓其創作能繼續傳唱。
